The TikTok and Oracle deal is possibly happening and this changes it all, literally.

TikTok is very close to finalizing a deal with Oracle. This acquisition will help TikTok to store the data of users based in the United States Without providing the access to Chinese parent company ByteDance. A dedicated team of engineers and cyber security specialists will act as gatekeepers for the United States user-based data and it won’t be under TikTok’s supervision.

The agreement is known internally as “Project Texas,” a reference to the company’s Texas-based HQ. This company will put in place a lot more new controls that restrict access to United States user data, which it will recreate in Europe.

This agreement was first announced under former President Trump As they ordered a ban on TikTok Expressing the concerns about the United States user base data being made available to the Chinese Government.

Oracle was supposed to become a trusted technology partner for TikTok in the United States. In addition to the presidential order, the CFIUS formally ordered parent company ByteDance to divest itself of operations in the US.
