GM confused police when tried to pull their car over.

General Motors’ Cruise Self-driving unit car has been offering public taxi rides in San Francisco and for the most part, it seems like the service hasn’t drawn into any problems yet, which we would probably expect as it’s a relatively new kind of technology. But well, ask for a problem. The problem strikes as one of the company’s vehicles left, the police were seemingly confused by the car’s response, it had to be a routine traffic stop.

GM said, “An officer contacted Cruise personnel and no citation was issued, we work closely with the SFPD on how to interact with our vehicles, including a dedicated phone number for them to call in situations like this.”

It’s still very unclear why the police stopped the vehicle, but it seems like the car didn’t have the front lights on. It’s very safe to say that we will see more issues and minor problems like these as autonomous vehicles become a more common sight on US roads.
