Apple has now opened up the Freeform App to Devs

Apple is allowing developers to use its Freeform app for the first time with the release of the first betas of iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and macOS Ventura 13.1 earlier today (via MacRumors). Freeform is a whiteboard-style collaborative programme that was unveiled at WWDC in June and has integrations throughout the company’s ecosystem.

With the use of the programme, many users can contribute text, images, sketches, PDFs, and other content to a shared space using a “flexible canvas.” Freeform enables groups to edit their work together in real time, just like Google Docs and many other collaboration tools. Over FaceTime, you can invite someone to a Freeform session, and Messages will follow any changes in a related group thread. Freeform is likely to formally debut alongside those improvements later this year given that it is present in the most recent betas of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. There is currently no release date for the latest iterations of such operating systems.
