Tesla just fired 200 workers to prepare for the "great recession"

Tesla just fired nearly 200 workers from their Autopilot team, and they just closed up an office and California. The company notified staff of this move on Tuesday, and many of the effective employees were annotation specialists whose jobs involve evaluating the Autopilot data obtained from customers. Along with laying off a lot of hires in the California area, they’ve also closed down their San Mateo location. No media company can contact the company to get more details on what exactly happened and why it happened, because the company has not operated a public relations department since 2020.

These job cuts are part of a broader effort by the Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, to reduce costs at the company ahead of a potential recession that he senses in the future. According to an email that was sent by Elon Musk addressed to every Tesla employee, he said that he had a super bad feeling about the economy and that layoffs were coming in the future.

Elon Musk did tell Bloomberg that he planned to reduce their workforce by about 10% over the next three months, and this admission came after Elon Musk told remote workers to return to the office or lose their jobs.
