Twitter might just let users add different types of media formats in a tweet

Twitter has been testing a few experimental features lately, including tweets that can be co-authored by two accounts and a Myspace-style status label. For their latest new experimental trick or gimmick, Twitter is not going around with the way people pack a single tweet with many images, videos, and GIFs.

According to Twitter in a statement to TechCrunch, they said, “We’re testing a new feature with select accounts for a limited time that will allow people to mix up to four media assets into a single tweet, regardless of format. We’re seeing people have more visual conversations on Twitter and are using images, GIFs and videos to make these conversations more exciting. With this test we’re hoping to learn how people combine these different media formats to express themselves more creatively on Twitter beyond 280 characters.”

Although we never really have seen these kinds of tweets out in the wild, on Twitter, Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer, previously shared screenshots of what the upgraded and new tweet composer looks like when you would be able to add several different forms of media. It’s very similar to the existing method of attaching multiple images to a tweet with the option to add or remove Photos, videos, and GIF files and you’ll be also able to shuffle the order of them around.
