Apple is boasting a lot about its environmental initiatives ahead of Earth Day, and they are shedding a lot of light on its devices in the process. As part of the company’s 2022 Environmental Progress Report, Apple said that only 18% of the material in their 2021 overall products were recycled or renewed. It’s a very big 50% jump from last year’s 12%.

The company also said that they got rid of basically all plastics in their packaging material. They said only 4% of packaging included any kind of plastics in 2021. Also, the company hopes to eliminate all use of plastic in their packaging by 2025, which is good.
The report also advertised the company’s response to repairability concerns as the company said that their products have become increasingly easier to fix and repair centers, and the products use more durable designs as they mentioned, in the announcement of these self-service repair programs.
