Google Home app just got a redesign and I LOVE IT

The Google Home app is getting a new fresh design That will be making it a lot more intuitive than before. The upcoming 2.49 update will allow you to interact with your devices from a single screen.

Google is hoping to make this app a lot more user-friendly than what it is right now, They also say that it will help you quickly find what you’re looking for. You will now be able to tap on the device to turn it on or off, slide left or right on certain elements like lights or speakers. Still make adjustments to brightness and volume as well as long press on the device to see more options, which is helpful and a much-needed UI redesign.

Google Home last received a major design change in 2018, Google later tweaked some controls but the app has mostly had the same UI ever since, it is very clunky according to today’s standards and other Home control apps.

Google says that the redesign would roll out over the next few weeks, having the most recent version of the app on iOS or Android will not be enough to see the new changes. Mishaal Rahman (Former editor in chief at XDA Developers) successfully sideloaded the 2.49.1.8 update on Android and accessed the new settings.
