Apple might just introduce USB C to the next iPhone

A USB-C iPhone could be part of a broader move away from Lightning for Apple. Apple is now moving away from their proprietary lightning port to USB-C, why? the new rules forced by the EU? Probably. Apple is now working on accessories, including AirPods as well as mouse and keyboard peripherals, that charge via USB-C. Apple might redesign the iPhone featuring the universal port [USB-C] standard by the second half of 2023.

When Apple could make this move is still unclear although we know the transition will surely happen shortly. We do know for sure that Apple won’t release a USB-C iPhone until next year as it makes a lot of sense for the company to complete the move all at once. Although there’s no guarantee it will do things that way. Apple’s motivation for making this move has more to do with avoiding regulatory scrutiny than creating a better user experience.
