Twitter is now rolling out the new and updated Spaces tab

Twitter has started to roll out the updated Spaces tab. Members of Twitter Blue’s early access Labs programme can now test out the new UI component on iOS devices. The tab combines recorded and live Spaces and even provides a number of well-known podcasts that you can access right from the app.

There were hints in Twitter’s code that suggested the company was working on integrating podcasts in March. A few months later, the business started testing the interface modification on Android and iOS with a small number of English-speaking users. The tab’s current design includes distinct categories for existing and prospective Spaces as well as a Stations section that categorises podcasts and Spaces according to common themes.

It’s intentional for the UI Twitter chose to not appear optimal for discovering a specific podcast or episode. The tab won’t take the place of specific applications like Pocket Casts. However, if you use it to find new music to listen to and check out a Space or two in the process, the tab will be opened.
