unlike most websites nowadays, this page isn’t ai generated and you’re actually reading what i’m writing. ~ avi. this is a personal note from the creator of the site (me).

xetarev was not simply born overnight. back in february of 2020, when the world basically went off the hook, i started a technology focused web blog called ‘thephotonetix’ with a team of two. i had this passion for tech & just knew that i had to be talking about & sharing my unwavering unadulterated love for it. I just knew i had to do something with it, something that would serve tech enthusiasts across the world with facts and opinions about new tech.

We are infact kinda living in the golden era of it all, after all. we’re getting “AGI” soon (whoever knows when thats coming) there’s a real good chance that within the time i’m writing this and the time that you read it (or at least the web scrapers/crawlers or your agentic AIs do), some new breakthrough has probably already happened. (just so we’re clear we’re talking real breakthroughs like CRISPR Cas9 level breakthroughs not GPT 5.2 topping Gemini 3 in LMArena benchmarks)

So back at ‘thephotonetix,’ we explored tech like I already made clear. We made blogs and podcasts (albeit with an AI voice TTS that did sound pretty natural, now remember this is early 2022 and advanced voice mode or ElevenLabs neural audio was not a thing. just imagine how “sophisticated” we were lmao, **cough cough** *repurposing Microsoft Aria w/ clever audio editing*), sharing insights, opinions, and updates with the community.

then, on december 10, 2021, we made a bold move: we rebranded as xetarev. why? well, for starters, ‘thephotonetix’ was running on a free wordpress site, and that was simply not going to cut it. i needed a proper domain, something with a name that had a nice ring to it. after several days of brainstorming, boom. there i had it, i’d mashed together “zettabyte” and “rev” (as in revving a car). but “z” didn’t sit right with me. and, kind of like musk (to be clear im not a fanboy, im perfectly neutral on my opinions on him, just pointing parallels), i have a thing for the letter “x.” don’t ask me why, it just looks cool. and sounds cool. and is cool. so yeah so: xeta + rev = xetarev. (Also the x on xetarev does indeed sound like a z, so good enough)

fast forward four years, and we’re still at it! breaking down complex tech topics into bitesized, nononsense insights. no jargon overload, just the essentials. we blend factual reporting with thoughtful analysis.

the website, truly has gone through tons of changes and updates, there’ve been tons of additions and the tech/code that powers the site and our internal systems have become more sophisticated now (still plenty, and i mean PLENTY) of room to keep ever growing, I can’t find a reason why you’d ever stop wanting to grow (well i kinda can but lets keep the shtick up alr?) point is that in addition to the bauhaus inspired cosmetic changes, the lightning fast loadspeeds, the labs projects and products we’re starting to come out with, we’re still the same at heart. xetarev truly is evolving.

xetarev is evolving. while we still cover the latest in tech news and updates, we’re shifting gears towards web development and web design. i’ve honed my skills enough to branch out on my own, bringing creativity into the digital space. branding is crucial to me. i don’t know why, but i just love it. the design, the fine-tuning, the process of making something intuitive and polished. it’s incredible to see how far xetarev has come, and with 2026 on the horizon, i’m excited for what’s next. big things are coming, and this is just the beginning.
