Youtube Premium users can now pinch to zoom on videos

YouTube has just quietly introduced a great new experimental feature for Premium Users that’s called Pinch To Zoom and it lets users zoom into the video player and then pan around to look at different parts of the screen, both in portrait or full-screen landscape view.

If you are an existing Premium User right now, you could try this new feature out by tapping your profile photo and hitting, “Your Premium Benefits”, you could then open the “Try New Features” Section, and then you could enable the Zoom Function on your YouTube app. It might take a while for this feature to kick in but once it does, you could Actively Zoom in up to 8 times.

YouTube has tried testing interesting features like Picture And Picture in the past with random users and beta app testers, although in 2020 they launched Experimental Features for only Premium Users out there, and they let them try out New Options before anyone else. Several experimental features that have made the way to the actual premium app include easier playlist management and browser-based voice search. This new feature will also be available until September 1st and is only supported on Android devices right now.
