Twitter Blue just got a substantial price raise

Twitter just raised the $3 subscription to now over $5 a month. The social network has just sent out an email notifying users that Twitter blue has raised its prices for new members, but as early adopters, the monthly amount they will be paying will remain the same till October. The e-mail was posted by social media consultant Matt Navarra, the email they got said that early adopters will also be notified at least 30 days before the new monthly price takes effect for their accounts.

Twitter did not elaborate on the reason why they increased their prices, but they did say in the email that it would help them build new features subscribers have been asking for, while also improving the ones they already have. They say they want to do this to support their mission of supporting journalism, It also said that they are currently making a more frictionless reading experience while launching new experimental features and Twitter Blue Labs for those who would like to stick around, even with the higher subscription prices.

The subscription was launched by Twitter back in the US in November, which unlocked additional features for the most dedicated users the website had. Some of its features are very useful, like the ability to undo tweets, which is the closest to an edit button currently available also allows members to browse news without ads and give them access to the latest features the website is testing.
