Spotify just made finding events near you a lot more easier

Spotify just expanded their old concert hub and added a lot more features to make it a lot easier for users to find information and tickets for live events on your location. The service currently sources listings for the hub, now called the live events feed. During the height of COVID-19 lockdowns, the concert hub helped users find at home or studio performances, podcast recordings and other online performances out there, and it turns out Spotify was studying user behavior at the same time, which really led to the better man of this new upgraded service.

Product Manager for Live Events Discovery at Spotify Sam Sheridan, said The company spent the past two years studying the music industry and the users, and one of the most important behaviors the company noticed was that fans would engage with artists on the platform and then leave to search for concert listings or to follow them on social media to be able to stay on top of any other new upcoming tour dates. He went on to say that this new Live Events Feed will provide an opportunity to help close this loop.

If you are currently not able to see the live events feed on your app, simply search for live events on the search bar and you will be able to see a listing of all the performances in your area and clicking on any one of them would lead you to an interface that’ll includes a link where you will be able to find and buy tickets for the event. Spotify will continue to work even further, integrating even Discovery directly until the app makes it a lot more better, seamless and intertwined with the listening experience. So we can expect a lot more updates to live events in the future, which really is a great thing for concert goers.
