Facebook is DELETING PEOPLE who didn’t activate Facebook Protect

In early March, a lot of Facebook users out there got a spam-like email, which was titled, “Your account requires advanced security from Facebook Protect” Saying that the users were supposed to turn on the Facebook Protect feature by a certain date or they would be locked out of their account. Facebook says that this is a security program for groups of people that are likely to be targeted by malicious hackers like Human Rights Defenders, Journalists, and Government Officials. They say that it is meant to do things like ensuring those accounts are monitored for hacking threats and they are also protected by two-factor authentication.

The thing is that Facebook sent these Emails to users from a different address ([email protected]) This email kind of resembles a common form of spam, so it is very much a big possibility That a lot of people ignored it. But the thing is, these emails were not spammed and it was real. So the first deadline to hit for a lot of people was Thursday, March 17th, and now these users are locked out of their Facebook accounts and are having trouble with the process that Facebook provided them to get back in.

People that did not activate Facebook protection before they hit their deadline or get a message saying they cannot get into their accounts and an appropriate reason for them. They also offered to help them turn it on, But sometimes it’s not working out. There have also been a lot of complaints on Twitter and other social networking sites that people are being locked out of their Facebook accounts, even if they do not have the appropriate safeguards. A lot of people also say that text-based two factor authentication is not working. A lot of users also complained that they could not get through the activation process even before the deadline, and they are effectively locked out of their accounts.
