Ubisoft experienced a cyber security incident and the Nvidia/ Samsung hackers take responsibility.



Ubisoft just experienced a cyber security incident last week that temporarily disrupted some of the games, systems, and services the company owns. The company did not publicly announce who was responsible for the cyber security incident, but the group that hacked NVIDIA last week took credit. Ubisoft says they believe that currently there is no evidence of any player personal information that was accessed/ exposed by any product in this incident, The company also says that the games and services are functioning normal. As a precautionary measure, Ubisoft also initiated a company-wide password reset.

The news of many incidents are arriving amid of very huge Wave of very high profile hacks, NVIDIA confirmed on March 1st that they were hacked and said that the hackers are leaking employee credentials. Then Samsung said on March 7th that the hackers stole internal data from the company. And now comes Ubisoft’s turn. The LAPSUS$ hacking group has taken responsibility for the breaches.

Also on Friday, a telegram channel that is owned by the hacking group posted a link to a Verge article and the smirking face emoji, taking responsibility for the Ubisoft Incident too. While responding to a user in the channel, the group confirmed that they did not target the company’s customer information.
