According to many different sources & rumors out there, Apple has transferred the Touch ID work and resources to the Face ID team. Meaning that Apple will now abandon the development of an under-screen fingerprint feature. Apple will also adjust the research and development efforts to the direction of Face ID. Furthermore, Apple is also going to make many strides and efforts on the under-screen camera technology. There are many speculations that the iPhone 15 Pro will be the first iPhone to change the atrocious design.

Apple previously planned to add an under-screen camera to the iPhone 13 Pro, but Apple always strives for perfection on their phones, and the fact that under-screen camera tech is very far from perfect right now. There’s a lot of work to do and that is why Apple has decided to postpone this plan for a few years for research.

Since the iPhone X, they have been using a notch design, but the iPhone 15 Pro may be the first iPhone without any of these design elements that we have now considered to be the staple iPhone design. Apple Is not going to be releasing the design changes to the iPhone lineup until September next year, which means that the new design will probably be seen on the iPhone 15 lineup. Most likely, the iPhone 14 series will continue the notch design of the iPhone 13 series.

However, there are also reports that the next-generation iPhones may use a punch-hole display. So it’s confusing for every one of us as no one knows what step Apple is going to be taking. Well, with information coming from many reliable sources it’s confirmed that Apple engineers are no longer going to be working on the under-screen fingerprint recognition for the iPhone, that’s for sure.

Apple has really been working on their end screen fingerprint recognition for many years, but it really seems like Face ID is the way to go for them, especially with their decision in January to shift all touch ID work and resources to those working on the Face ID team, Their priority for Face ID also is seen as they did roll out face ID for people wearing masks on iOS 15.4 beta.
