Zoom says no audio was transmitted back to the zoom platform. If you are using the zoom on Mac, it is the best time to make sure it is updated to the latest version (5.9.3)
Zoom has said that the bug that appeared to cause the microphone to stay on Macs running Monterey MacOS Would now get fixed. Normally the mic would still stay on even after leaving a meeting. This issue users have been complaining about since December and it was documented in a post in Zoom’s community forum. Many users did notice that the Orange Recording Indicator light in the Control Center appears even when the zoom wasn’t being used. This indicator light is normally a privacy feature that was introduced in Mac OS Monterey warning users when any application would use your microphone.
This did raise many privacy concerns Given zoom previously did have a serious privacy vulnerability On Mac in the past. Or representative later did comment on the post said that zoom did experience a bug relating to the Zoom client for Mac OS, which did show the orange indicator light continuing to appear even after leaving a meeting call or webinar.
This representative also said there updating zoom to the newest version 5.9.3, which was released in late January, will fix the issue. The Zoom client for macOS 5.9.3, released on January 25, 2022, fixed a bug involving the failure to properly terminate the microphone use post-meeting and Zoom has also determined that this bug will not result in audio data being transmitted back to Zoom’s platform.
