Here’s a cool little trick you can do on Google Maps.

Originally covered on the Verge, John Porter Discovered a little trick that allows us to zoom with just one finger. No one knew about this trick. At least some people over at Google probably did. In a tweet from Alban Denoyeal, They linked an old YouTube video from 2013 which showed its existence.

Here’s the little shortcut. You can just double tap on the screen and without lifting your finger on the second tap, you just Swipe up or swipe down. After double tapping and swiping up, it will zoom out, And when you swipe down it zooms in.

This is a great way to use Google Maps without using both your hands and it is a great way to reposition the map to check your directions Right on one hand. It is a great little nifty feature and works very well.

But as a person who likes to see the map using two fingers as Pan Zoom and move from one place to the other, I just prefer sticking to the way I normally do. It is a nifty little feature and it is a great way to Check your maps one-handed, Try it out!

This feature does work on Google Maps on both Android and iOS. Also, while working on other iOS mapping apps like Apple Maps and Citymapper. (Seems like a thing in the mapping app industry That we didn’t know of )
