Messenger now has end to end encryption, privacy? by Meta?!?!!

Messenger End-to-end encryption is available to all users now. This feature was an optional feature That was being tested on group chats and calls previously. A new feature allows users To simply swipe up on an existing chat to enter a secret dialogue where messages automatically disappear, or to tap the lock icon which they can use To start a new conversation.

The messenger did begin testing end-to-end encryption in 2016. This new feature allowed messages that could not be read by any third party while stored on a server. Facebook did claim that they already use secure communication channels, but because of growing user feedback, they did have to introduce a secret conversation feature that could only be read by the person whom they were communicating with.

While WhatsApp has supported an end to end encryption since 2016. We don’t think these native encryption services will be available on Messenger and Instagram even by 2023.

This opt-in feature for encryption does give you a lot of security boosts while also giving you the same normal features like stickers or reactions and message forwarding, media saving, and video edits. Hey, you do get a verified badge that you can show your identity to authentic encrypted accounts.

The metal blog said that they know the importance of safety and privacy when it comes to communicating, They then said that they hope these features would elevate the private messaging experience as they continue to improve your encrypted conversations.
