Pinterest AR shopping now includes furniture and home decor.



Will this new Pinterest feature users will now be able to allow consumers to see what furniture or other home decor items will look like in their own home, This new augmented reality system in Pinterest is very new for the app.

Similar technology is already being by more other seller networks like Amazon, IKEA, Wayfair and more, Pinterest is working with US retailers including Crate & Barrel, Walmart, West Elm and Wayfair to allow online shoppers to virtually place items in their home with the Pinterest app lens camera. If the user then likes the product that they see in their own home they can proceed to purchase the item directly from the retailer, It’s a really great way to sell stuff online now.

Previously we were not able to see what the product would really look like in real life when we buy anything online but now it seems like the AR industry is going to change at all. This virtual shopping experience for home decor is launching in the US across more than 80,000 shoppable pins which makes Pinterest the largest AR shopping investment today. The technology still is not there yet to make it available for the masses but we’re sure it’s will get there soon.

If you would like to use the feature on iOS or Android and you live in the US, you can just go click on supported home decor pins and then click try and your space to see the virtual product through the camera lens.

You will be able to adjust the product in your room and if you like what you see you can just click on the pin again to be directed to the checkout page on the retailer’s website. Honestly, this is a pretty great way to shop
