Alphabet Inc. said yesterday that they were looking into web 3 technology. They are the company that owns Google and they have already started to embrace cryptocurrency. They said that they were going to be actively looking for ways they can apply Web 3 and blockchain technology networks into their business. At their quarter four earnings call yesterday, CEO Sundar Pichai said that Alphabet was definitely looking at blockchain and such an interesting and powerful technology with broad applications.

Google previously hired former PayPal senior VP and Chief Product Architect, Arnold Goldberg (To lead their payments division) They said that they were looking into financial services like Bitcoin credit and debit cards. It really seems like all of these big tech corporations are going all in to this new technology and The change towards Web3 is coming soon.

Sundar Pichai also said that Alphabet is looking forward to how they manage and contribute to the ecosystem to add value to the blockchain and Web3 altogether.

Pichai also said that their cloud team is looking at how they can support their customers’ needs in transacting, storing value, and deploying new products on blockchain-based platforms. Web3 refers to the next step of the Internet, which is currently in development, This new era of the Internet will be focusing on making the experience more decentralized.
