There’s plenty of Space in Space, Musk said.

Elon Musk has pushed on claims from the European Space Agency that SpaceX was jamming out opponents in space, stating there’s space for “tens of billions” of satellites. Given that orbital “shells” are bigger than the Earth’s surface, that would imply room for tens of billions of satellites, Musk Said.

“A couple of thousand satellites is nothing. It’s like, hey, here are a couple of thousand of cars on Earth — it’s nothing,” he added.

Josef Aschbacher, the European Space Agency’s director-general, said that Starlink was preventing Euro satellites from entering the commercial space industry.

Musk also said that space is “extremely enormous,” and satellites are “very tiny.” We’ve not blocked anyone from doing anything, nor do we expect to, Musk said in a statement.

SpaceX has already launched more than 1,700 satellites, Musk has already said he wants 42,000 satellites up there.
