Guess what? Discord just gave admins and moderators a great new tool to keep their servers safe, as the company has just unveiled a great new feature called Auto Mod, which detects and blocks harmful messages before they are even posted on a server.

Discord moderators or almost had access to this new feature by going into the “Server settings” Menu after which the tool will be available to admins and moderators. These court admins or moderators can create a list of words and phrases that they want Discord to remove from the server, except for a set of repercussions that allows some users to use them. As an example, you can configure this auto mod feature to prevent a user from sending any message or joining voice channels after triggering the bot safeguards.

It’s also possible to set up this tool to automatically notify you when someone writes something offensive or vulgar. Also, to make it a lot easier for owners, admins, or moderators, discord has put together three starting lists that cover certain categories of not-so-nice words or phrases.

Mods can add up to three additional custom filters in a list, which will be easier for them, as they will be able to easily suit the needs of their users. The company is also adding two new resources that help admins, which will be a dedicated hub with articles penned by experienced community builders and A new dedicated admin community server run by Discord staff where the company says that moderators can gather to chat and learn from each other.
