Mark Zuckerberg wants you buying virtual clothes for real money.

The metaverse doesn’t exist yet, but Mark Zuckerberg already has a very big plan to sell users designer fashion for their avatars in the Meadow verse, as the company just announced that they are opening an Avatar Store, where users will be able to purchase outfits or skins for their avatars on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.

There are new looks that include designer outfits from Balenciaga, Prada, and Thom Browne, The company also expects to add more designers overtime, As Zuckerberg and Eva Chen, Meadows VP of Fashion Partnerships, announced the new store on an Instagram live they described as the first “Live Avatar Fashion Show”.

On that Instagram live, Zuckerberg asked at one point after seeing a Balenciaga Zuck Avatar, If he was cool enough to wear that. Chen also showed Zuckerberg a Thom Browne look she described as a classic English schoolboy kind of vibe.

This is where it just gets crazy, Why would any Facebook user pay actual money for metaverse clothes? Chen said that it will be a lot easier to get your hands on, like an oversized Balenciaga hoodie in the metaverse than in real life, so it will be cheaper with prices in the store ranging from $2.99 to $8.99. This is some crazy stuff.
