Twitter just improved their tweet reporting tools, we love the move

Twitter just improve its tweet reporting tools and these tools are now available to everyone on the entire social media platform. The company did begin testing this new process for reporting harmful tweets in December, saying they were trying to make a people-first approach that will make it easier to flag tweets and now it’s very great to see the company rolling it out globally, to every user out there to make the community and the social media platform as a whole lot better and less toxic.

The previous tweet reporting process did require users to navigate a lot of menus to identify these specific rules. They believed that we had broken, and this process was very confusing for a lot of people, even for those familiar with the Twitter policies, and this often used to result in problematic tweets that were not properly flagged.

But now, with the newly revamped process, users will be able to describe what happened rather than prompting them to guess which rule might have been broken also making it a lot easier for users to report and flag tweets in which someone else is being targeted and gives users a lot more options for reporting hate speech among communities.

This simplified new approach is paying off already, as the company says that this new reporting process has resulted in a 50% increase in actionable reports since they began testing it six months ago. And we need to emphasize the fact that 50% is a very big improvement over what they previously had.
