Porsche releasing an all-electric Macan Compact SUV and a 718 Sportscar soon.

Porsche just announced that they are planning on building their EV charging network, they also announced that they aim to have 80% of their sales be EVs by 2030. The company announced this during their annual meeting, where they revealed plans to expand their portfolio of EVs with an all-electric Macan Compact SUV and a 718 Sportscar.

Currently, a lot of Porsche EV owners rely on 3rd party companies for their charging needs. Porsche currently has a partnership with Ionity (A joint venture with Ford, BMW, Daimler, and Volkswagen) But it seems like the company has now expressed a new need to build their electric vehicle charging network, which will directly compete with Tesla Superchargers.

These chargers in the Porsche electric Vehicle Charging network will be built along traffic corridors in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, the first installations will take place at the end of the year. These charging stations from Porsche will be exclusively for Porsche customers And will supplement the Ionity charging network in Europe.

Porsche says that they envision their charging stations like luxury lounges, where the owners of the electric vehicles can have a drink and relax while their vehicles are plugged in. The company executives say that they will eventually expand to the United States and China at a later time.

Also, the company says that the next generation Mid-Engine 718 will be electric. Taking inspiration from the Mission-R (the race car concept) the Electric Macan crossover will be coming out soon, we won’t get to see the 718 EV until 2025.
