According to a new report, Volkswagen Is probably going to acquire Huawei’s autonomous vehicle unit. The unit is a very fast-evolving enterprise that draws from Huawei’s tech. Many different sources suggest that this deal is going to be worth several billion euros. Volkswagen China has also not made any statement concerning the news.

The autonomous driving unit was created in 2019, and since then it has grown rapidly, taking a lot from the resources available to Huawei. Although there have been a lot of speculations that Huawei could develop their autonomous vehicle, their goal is to be a component supplier for different car brands.

Aside from Huawei, Volkswagen has also been taking a lot of different Steps To dominate the electric vehicle industry. The new direction to take is to dethrone Tesla (At least they are the major competitors of Volkswagen in the EV space) They are now rooting to dominate the autonomous driving space, this acquisition does seem to be a part of the strategic goals for the automaker. The autonomous car Industry Was the largest market in 2020 and it seems like the development of autonomous driving solutions has been quite rapid. Recently AutoX reached a milestone of 1,000 RoboTaxis deployed across China. Autonomous vehicles do seem to be the future in every company out there that is working very hard for it.
