Snapchat will now allow you to change your username, this is cool.

Snapchat will now let users change their username with a new update, which is arriving globally later this month. The company did announce that you will now be able to leave behind the name you used originally without having to create an entirely new account. And Snapchat also says that this new feature will be available before both iOS and Android and we’ll be launching on February 23rd.

If you want to change your username now, you could just head over to the profile screen by tapping on your bitmoji icon. You can click the gear icon and then click on “username”, then select “Change Username”. Changing the username won’t have an impact on your Contacts, Snapcode, Snap Score, or your Memories according to their press release. It just changes your profile URL in your username, so that’s that.

He should just remember that you will only be able to change your username once every year and snap also says that you won’t be able to pick a handle that has been used in the past, even by yourself. So if you are hoping to use a username that’s already registered and inactive, this change will not help there. Also, you won’t be able to use your previous username if you set a new one.
