Cameo is expanding beyond celebrity shout out videos, expanding to Video calls and NFTS?!!

Well yeah, you heard that right, earlier this week Cameo, the celebrity shout-out platform announced that they were going into NFTS. Starting on February 17th, people will be able to mint a Cameo Pass on Open Sea, each of the NFTS currently costs nearly $550 and it will give people exclusive access to Events like Parties at the company’s Beverly Hills Place, Merchandise drops in celebrities Q&A.

Cameo Co-founder Steven Galanis said that they do have a great answer for if someone asked what Cameo was doing in the NFT space now as they are making an authentic utility experience unique to Cameo.

This is not necessarily groundbreaking news these days, but this move is part of a bigger effort which they’re making to grow beyond what it is most known for, as a site where people go to pay up to their most liked Stars to make a personal video for them at a certain price.

This new clever social media-friendly concept with an influential economy favoring better revenue streams has turned Cameo into an impressive business. And the five years that they have launched, Cameo has made 4 million creator videos, and last year Cameo did sign up for 10,000 new stars coming on the platform.

They are also now available in Spanish, French, German, and Italian versions of Cameo. They have become very much aggressive about international growth in the last year. But now Cameo says the NFT thing is part of growth, which is focused on going above and beyond just video snippets which they dubbed Cameo Messages to send someone on their birthday or anything else.

Well let’s just hope this new strategy works out forward them as with more companies going in the NFT space, it does include many risks.
