Great news, Instagram will soon let you make longer Reels.



If you have used Instagram Reels, you know That the 60-second time cap on there is not a good thing and it is very much limiting. Well, great news, Instagram is reportedly planning to make the increase the video length for their rival TikTok, allowing users to be able to shoot 90 second or a half-minute-long reels.

Instagram originally started with a 15 second time gap which was doubled to 30 seconds later. They did double it again in July last year, allowing users to make minute-long reels.

Instagram is increasing the video length for Reels because it wouldn’t come as a surprise that their biggest rival TikTok already allows users to shoot much longer videos, They allowed people to shoot up to 3 minutes of content up from 60 seconds before last July.

We don’t know when Instagram is planning to increase the video length for Reels, but we will keep an eye out for it and will let you know if we get any more details about this. Reels has gained a lot of traction since they launched in 2020, They have been topping the charts in other countries like India and more, but they are still not gaining traction as any normal short video creator would use TikTok Instead of Instagram Reels in the US.
