Discord is now rolling out a new, overhauled Android app that will address a lot of the most consistent complaints they have in receiving with the software. According to Discord, the way they used to bring the latest features to Android last will now be changing. In a blog post the company published on Monday, Discord said that they recently rebuilt their Android app using React native, and this court has employed a framework for iOS development ever since Meta First, open-sourced React in 2015. Now, because Discord’s mobile apps are both on the same underlying code base, the company says that Android users will be able to expect feature consistency.

Discord users will also see a more consistent user interface across different platforms, and the Android app will also be featuring a larger default fund which will be more in line with iOS. The company also says that it will release feature updates faster. If you already have Discord on your phone right now, you could expect the overhauled app to arrive on your device in the coming weeks.
The company said, “As Discord continues to grow across platforms, we want to find ways to support you and your communities as quickly and efficiently as possible, regardless of which device or platform you happen to be using, Utilizing React Native across every mobile platform Discord is on is just one of the tools that helps us support what you do, and we can’t wait to show you how.”
