Instagram is now building out their creator subscription program this year and they are now slotting a couple of key pieces into place to make sure these programs work and creators can monetize their following. Creators will now be able to share subscriber-only feed posts. These reels and photos will have a purple badge with the crown symbol to make them stand out, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that this was the feature What’s the most requested from creators on the platform.

There’s also going to be a new subscriber chat option and influencers. We’ll be able to hop into the DMS with more than 30 subscribers and we’ll be able to attempt to persuade them to spend more time chatting on Instagram than on some other platform like Discord. Fans will get access to a subscriber home tab on the creator’s profile as well, and paywalled content will be centralized there, including photos, reels, and archived lives. Adam Mosseri now says that thousands of creators in the US will get access to the subscription program which will enable them to charge their fans up to $100 per month to access exclusive content they create.
The company started testing this creator subscription feature in January, with paywall stories and live streams, and subscribers also get a purple badge that appears next to their usernames on comments and in the DMS.

Meta is offering creators other incentives to build an audience and share content on Facebook and Instagram, as well as the company, says that they won’t charge any commissions on earnings creators make through the platform till 2024. So they want creators to get more incentive to post on the platform and monetize their platform through it.
