Apple just refreshed the new Macbook Air with the new M2 chip

Apple just refreshed the new Mac Book Air with the just-announced M2 chip inside and a larger 13.6-inch display including Mag safe for the first time in years. Just like the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro that Apple released last fall. This new laptop has two Thunderbolt ports and a new headphone Jack that is cool.

The M2 chip comes with an 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and up to 24GB of RAM. Although the base model only comes with 8 gigs of RAM and an 8 core GPU, Apple is still promising 18 hours of battery life for the MacBook Air. The Mac Book Air also has a little notch, just like the MacBook Pro, and it holds a 1080P webcam that Apple says has twice the resolution in the low light performance of the previous MacBook Air camera.

This new design of the MacBook Air is very reminiscent of the MacBook Pro, with a slightly more squared-off body, and for the first time, the MacBook Air is not a tapered wedge design like all the other previous models. The MacBook Air is still extremely thin and comes with a 2.7-pound weight limit.

The MacBook Air is, unfortunately, a lot more expensive than before, as we expected, as it starts at $1999, which is $200 more than the older model, and there’s still no word on when it will start shipping. Although Apple did say they would ship it next month.
