You might be very happy because Amazon is now shutting down service for the Cloud Cam, why? It’s because Amazon is now offering owners a free Blink Mini Security Camera and a 1-year subscription to the higher-end Blink subscription plus service which is normally $100 per year.

The Cloud Cam functionality is ending on December 2nd. Key Edition owners will also get a 4th Gen Echo speaker to the replace smart home hub. Amazon said that they were shutting down the Cloud Cam service to “focus on Blink, Ring and other products that make your home smarter” in an email. The move will primarily end storage for video recording, but people using the Cloud Cam Key Edition as a hub won’t be able to connect to smart locks until they get an Echo.

Amazon shutting down the service isn’t much of a surprise, as the company stopped offering the cloud camera at the end of 2019 as Blink and Ring ultimately took over.
