BMW is expanding its EV lineup as the company just unveiled the iX1 SUV. It’s an all-electric variant of the X1 crossover they already sell. The iX1 Is an Entry-level model which will supplant the i3 as the automaker’s least expensive EV.

The normal X1 crossover version will have 2 petrol and 2 diesel engine options in October, immediately followed by the iX1 xDrive 30. The iX1 will have a dual-motor powertrain with one on each axle producing a combined output of 313 HP in 364 LB-FT of torque. The EV will be able to go from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds.

According to BMW, the iX1 will have a range of up to 438 km being able to be charged at a rate of up to 127 kW topping up the battery charge level to 80 percent of capacity in 29 minutes. Inside the electric vehicle, you’ll be able to see a curved display with support for voice and touch controls. The central console will include a wireless charging tray for the phone, with support for BMW digital key plus along with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
We don’t have much more details about the car right now as the company did not reveal any other details including the pricing, but we do suspect they will reveal it pretty soon. So we would recommend you hang around tight and keep waiting for that.
