T-Mobile just launched their commercial voice over 5G service today in some limited areas in Portland and Salt Lake City. Currently, users with Samsung Galaxy S21 5G phones, or the only people who can access this tech so it is a very small sample size but T-Mobile does say they’re planning to keep rolling out this feature to other areas and other brands as well later this year.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 5G has HD Voice+ but consumers have said that there is no ability to use this feature over 5G. Also, for consumers who don’t use T-Mobile, you’ll have to wait even longer for 5G voice calls as both AT&T and Verizon haven’t really made 5G voice calls a priority yet.
Also, it’s very unlikely consumers will notice a wild difference in sound quality between five cheap voice calls on LTE voice calls. According to T-Mobile, users will be able to notice a slightly faster culture of times or a shorter amount of time between when they dial a number and the phone starts to ring.
