Valve just delayed their Steam Deck Docking station even more

Valve just delayed their Steam Deck Docking station due to supply shortages and pandemic-related manufacturing shutdowns, as the company said that they are improving the situation and they did say that they would share more information when they would get it themselves.

This setback won’t affect production and reservation windows for the steam deck itself, but the company did vow to support third party USB C hubs and external monitors, and it’s really good to see because there are not a lot of other companies that do this because they just want to reap all the benefits themselves.

The docking station will effectively cradle the Steam Deck while providing Display, Ethernet, and USB connections. The Dock was announced alongside the handheld system but wasn’t available when the steam deck first reaches consumers.

Valve currently says they might release it in “late spring.” The delay won’t affect you from using the Steam Deck as a PC, or attaching it to a TV but other hubs clearly won’t be as elegant as a dock built with the console in mind.
