DeLorean just offered us a first look at their Alpha5 four-seater EV, the EV was designed by ItalDesign studio. The car is based on the Medusa concept that the original DeLorean company had been working on before the company went bankrupt in 1982.

The vehicle was supposed to have four independent gullwing doors, but the DeLorean appears to have decided to stick with two doors and from a top front angle, the Alpha 5 has a passing resemblance to Tesla’s latest Roadster EV with similar lines on the hood.
The company is currently targeting a 100 kWh battery pack that will probably provide an excellent range with a dual motor, all-wheel drive setup. The car is projected to hit a top speed of 155 mph and will be able to go from 0-60mph in 2.99 seconds or 0-88mph in 4.35 seconds.

The DeLorean was made famous by the back to the future series of movies as its creator, John Dolorian, also had a colorful history, having managed the development of American muscle cars, Lady Pontiac GTO in the 60s and 70s. So we’re keen to see what this company comes up with next after being bankrupt for a lot of decades now.
