Top Gun Maverick is now finally reaching theaters and themes

Top Gun Maverick is now finally reaching theaters and themes. Microsoft Flight Simulator expansion pack is launching as well, and Microsoft and Asobo studio have released the free add-on to both high above the Tom Cruise movie and give you a taste of the US Navy’s real-world flight training.

You’ll also get a Maverick Edition livery for the F/A-18E Super Hornet fighter jet, but you’ll also learn how to land on an aircraft carrier, perform combat maneuvers and navigate challenging terrain at low altitude. You’ll also be able to fly this cool hypersonic aircraft from the movie ‘The Darkstar’. You’ll be able to push Mach 10 and climb above 150,000 feet. It’s cool because, in real life, even the SR-71 Blackbird didn’t manage to sustain flight beyond 85,000 feet.

Both the movie and this game add-on have taken a very long time to arrive as Top Gun Maverick was originally supposed to debut in July 2019, but filming issues and COVID-19 pushed it back multiple times. Still, Paramount settled it on May 27th. As the flight simulator expansion was very closely tied to the film, Microsoft and Asobo delayed the game content from November 2021 to this month. This is cool for users, including me, who wanted to venture beyond the limits of the usual civilian aircraft limits on Flight Simulator.
