EA is now looking for a buyer or a company to merge with them. The company is in talks with Disney, Apple and other giants like Amazon. It’s still very unclear which buyers were interested in purchasing Electronic Arts and which were looking to merge.

EA previously approached Disney in March to make a more meaningful relationship that will just go beyond licensing deals. However, the company decided to not push forward with this new thing because they were very focused on their streaming service, which has been facing a lot of competition for a while now. Comcast was the closest to the deal among all of the potential partners for EA. Brian Roberts, the CEO of Comcast, approached Wilson to merge NBC Universal with EA, Afterwhich Roberts would take the majority control over the merged company, but Wilson would remain chief executive. But unfortunately the deal fell through.
It’s still to be seen who buys EA. Maybe Microsoft, maybe not. Maybe any company out there, but we are really hoping for the company to release GTA 6 because that’s all that matters.
