Talking with your friends while gaming on your Xbox Series X or S can be really fun, but party chat members’ microphones that bring in every barking dog and TV into the voice room isn’t cool Which is why Microsoft is now introducing noise suppression to party chat in the latest Xbox update.
On the Xbox blog, the company wrote: “We’ve enabled a new feature which will process your microphone input through a noise suppression step to help produce cleaner audio in your Party Chat session, The setting is enabled by default but can be toggled from the dropdown options menu.”

This feature takes a cue from Discord audio filters along with Nvidia’s broadcast technology. While the artificial intelligence within the new software update does blur out, a lot of noises except for voices, some users still complain about the reduced audio quality so it’ll be interesting to see what Microsoft comes up with to tackle this problem.
This update also includes various fixes for audio controllers, HDMI, CEC guide, and more. It’s entering the alpha skip ahead ring today and will roll out widely shortly, so we’ll not have to wait all that long to get it on our Xbox consoles.
