Nearly ten years after their first Google Glass made its debut at Google IO 2012, AR glasses are back in business as the company announced a new set of AR glasses in their Google IO 2022 event a while back. A lot of industry experts were speculating about the existence of a Google AR glass, and Google has finally revealed their plans for Augmented Reality glasses and was shared to see them in the future.

The company teased the AR glasses at Google IO 2022, sharing a very short clip showing off some of the capabilities of the device as we saw an early prototype, awfully wearable device transcriber conversation in real-time, providing captions for the wearer. The AR glasses seemed to translate a conversation from English to Spanish and real-time transcribing it to the person wearing the glass.

Google did not share its plans to release the AR glass. They showed off at the presentation as they also included a very little asterisk text at the bottom of the frame that said that the video was showcasing a simulated point of view suggesting that the final interface will look very different from the one we were shown at the event.

The original Google glasses never really took off the way the company envisioned it which is why they are sharing their efforts to make the future a lot different with their glasses.
