Instagram now supports NFTs, ok we’re done

Just the way the company previously said and facts are now coming on Instagram as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the app will start testing a way for users to display NFTS on their profiles this week. Mark Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post: “We’re starting building for NFTs, not just in our metaverse and Reality Labs work, but also across our family of apps, We’re starting to test digital collectibles on Instagram so that creators and collectors can display their NFTs.”

A similar feature like this is also coming on Facebook shortly, as Meta is considering enabling NFTs in the other apps they own. There is also a way for people to display 3D AR NFTS on Instagram stories pretty soon. Instagram head, Adam Moseri also shared how these NFT integrations would work, Users will now be able to share an FTS they created or bought in their feed, stories, or messages. Currently, a very limited number of people in the United States will have the access to these features.

Also, considering that the Web 3 tags like NFTS in the blockchain are decentralized and that Instagram is a centralized platform, It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but they say they are starting small, making sure they learn from the community. Currently, users that are testing the feature won’t pay any fees associated with sharing a digital collectible on Instagram. So users will be able to buy and sell them directly on Instagram at some point too.
