Telegram is testing more dumb ways to generate revenue

Telegram is testing more ways to generate revenue, as the latest beta version of their iOS app now includes reaction emojis and stickers that only users with Telegram Premium subscriptions will be able to unlock [Seems kind of stupid to me]

Cr: TheVerge

Anyone that selects these stickers in beta right now will be asked to join Telegram Premium. Also, users on the other end won’t be able to see these reactions until they sign up too. No other details about this new premium subscription have been released as of yet, and Telegram has also not officially announced this service as founder Pavel Durov Has also been very clear about the need for the messaging app to generate revenue to stay alive.

Telegram has always been adamant about the fact that they won’t ever charge users for existing features, which begs the question of how will they ever generate any revenue, because most features users need are already available.
