Samsung just expanded their lineup of T7 Portable edged with a more rugged version called the T7 Shield, which has more improved drop resistance. Samsung also says that it should be able to survive a fall off 9.8 feet, in part thanks to rubberized exterior protection.
Samsung says that the SSD has low heat conductivity and offers to read-write speeds of up to 1,050MB/s and 1,000MB/s. Samsung says that these are the fastest possible speeds for the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard, also claiming that the T7 shield is almost 10 times faster than external HDDs. Just like every other T7 SSD model, the shield is compact, measuring 88 * 79 * 13 millimeters, weighing 93 grams only.
Also, the SSD is compatible with gaming consoles, computers, mobile devices, and broadcast cameras, also paired with hardware encryption. The T7 Shield has black, beige, and blue color options. It’s available worldwide today. The 1TB version costs $160, while the 2TB model is $290.
