Instagram is now experimenting with a new template feature that will allow every Instagram user to copy video formats from Reels. Templates are already a very popular feature on TikTok and are the building blocks of viral challenges and trends on the platform. Currently, templates on reels are still in beta testing mode with only a small number of influencers being able to access them. Well, we are very sure this is going to be getting a global release.

Templates give users the option to select “Use as template” on any Reels video to replace video clips with your own. While the current version of Templates on Reels gives users several preset options, the new feature appears to give the option of using any Reels video as a template.

This is just like all of the feature updates Instagram has rolled out to beat TikTok and be the Gen Z app of choice.
