Meta is very eager to stake its future on AR, VR, and the Metaverse, which is very imminent. Just by looking at the name change, they had a while back. But now we exactly know what the social media networking giant hopes to deliver as according to many sources out there, the company is going to be launching their first augmented reality glasses [Part of their project Nazare initiative in 2024]

According to sources, the initial model will be very independent and will not require your phone to operate, although you will need a phone-shaped device to handle the computing and rely on an electrical pulse-based wristband for controlling the things you see on your smart glasses. The first smart last model would supposedly be based on Android and would be offering a full AR experience with 3D visuals, eye tracking and outward-facing camera, stereo audio, and a socially acceptable look. [So that goes to show2 it will be very different from the Google Glass]
The centerpiece feature for the smart glasses would be communication with other hologram people, very much like what the company portrayed in a video that accompanied their big rebranding last fall. The company could also release a pair of phone-powered smart glasses, nicknamed Hypernova. It will be able to show notifications through a small display and supposedly might be released in 2024. Meta could also just sell the eyewear to mere thousands. Although Zuckerberg sees them as a crucial thing as Zuckerberg wants the AR glasses to represent an “iPhone moment” for the company, one where they redefine the company and the entirety of the market. It’s not hard to see why the company and Zuckerberg are pushing so much for AR & VR. They want to leave behind the controversies, the lack of trust, and the scandals.
