Meta’s Horizon Worlds could not require a VR headset in the future, as the CTO, Andrew Bosworth teased that a future web version can be coming pretty soon. They said that the future web version would demand a more reasonable 25% cut from digital goods being sold In response to the criticism for the 47.5% cut-off sales in the virtual world currently.

Andrew did not say anything more about how the web version is going to be working or when it will launch. It’s also not very clear if this is a VR environment [Something like Google Street View] or a scaled-back experience. Boss Word then justified that those 47.5% cut for Quest headset users is for building a new ecosystem.
Creators that make digital goods in the virtual world will get some consolation from this, as they probably are worried a lot as they could lose nearly half of all sales revenue to Meta.
