It’s official, every company out there wants to copy TikTok. It seems like Spotify just introduced a new music discovery feed that is very similar to TikTok. It’s currently in beta and helps you find new tunes through a vertical customized feed of canvas visual loops. It’s currently available only to iOS and Android users in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

This discovery tool is available from the home screen and is very much like TikTok, which lets you scroll down when you’re done with the music playing, and if you like what you hear, you can follow the artists and add it to your playlist. Or like it. Spotify offers up to 15 new recommendations every day, and you won’t really have to listen to all the material but you also won’t be scrolling for longer.
Spotify did not say if or when these beta versions could expand to the United States or globally, but saying this, it isn’t very shocking to see an expansion as the TikTok type Vertical Feed would help Spotify get younger listeners, giving them a familiar experience & reason to keep coming back every day.
