According to an SEC filing, Elon Musk is going to be serving as a Class II [ Not the top tier] director with a term expiring at the company’s 2024 annual shareholder meeting. So the appointment states that Elon Musk cannot hold more than 14.9% of common stock during his tenure.

The former CEO and co-founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey appreciated the deal and responded by saying that he believed that Elon Musk cared deeply about the planet and Twitter. Also saying that Elon Musk and Parag Agarwal would lead with their hearts.
It’s still really hard to say how much influence Elon Musk is going to be having in the company as a director, although he did say that Twitter was failing short of free speech principles, asking the users on the social media networking site if they wanted an edit button.
